The Benjamin Foundation ... Helping you honour a memory

The Benjamin Foundation fulfills a role unique in North America by offering bereaved families the ability to establish a memorial fund to hold donations in trust until they are ready to meaningfully honour the deceased.

When donations are consolidated through The Benjamin Foundation, the charity receiving the funds knows it was selected because of its meaning to the deceased and his or her family. Families often continue the relationship with the charity through new gifts and fundraising.

Every day at The Benjamin Foundation, we see how people are lifted out of their sorrow through the chance to give to a cause that speaks to the character and life of the one they mourn.

By donating to a memorial fund established in the name of the deceased through The Benjamin Foundation, you are contributing toward a fitting tribute. Within the next few months, family members will have an opportunity to select charities that honour the deceased most meaningfully. You will receive a tax receipt within one month of making your donation.

Establish a Memorial Fund

Death is always a shock, even when it is anticipated. You need to focus on getting through the funeral, through the shiva. The Benjamin Foundation can handle memorial donations until you are ready to assume the funds. This temporary arrangement allows time to grieve, to learn more about needs in the community and to select charities that honour the deceased most meaningfully.

•	Ensure newly bereaved families don't have to worry about where to designate memorial donations while they are in full mourning;
